TAMS: This is where I went for 11th & 12th grade. The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science is a two year program located at the University of North Texas in Denton. Students from across the state of Texas apply and are selected to attend the two-year program which consists of a set curriculum to be completed in order to graduate. There is a dorm set aside for TAMS students
and all students have tuition and books paid for as a part of acceptance to the academy. This program was the perfect stepping stone for me because it exposed me to college level courses while preserving most activities
common to any high school. Aside from having school sports teams, we had everything else a regular high school would have....Student Council, Key Club, and various traditional events (ie., homecomming, prom, etc...). I enjoyed the program very much. I learned a lot about myself during those two years and made friendships that will last a lifetime. I was voted Homecomming King during my senior year and titled Mr. TAMS under senior
superlatives in the yearbook. I was also selected by the staff of the TAMS program to recieve the Staff Choice Award. If you have any questions about TAMS, please ask me!
